Wildcat Guards
Winter Guard is a winter Colorguard activity that involves performing one 4-6 minute show to music; that will compete with other Winter Guard programs in the SAPA competition circuit. The performer’s goal is to tell a story through dancing, choreography, and spinning equipment. Winter Guards is open to all students, grades 9 to 12, that wish to be a part of a competitive team.
Duluth HS has three guard teams:
1. Fall Guard performs in collaboration with the Wildcat marching band during the Football season. Performances occur during half time on Friday nights, and the team performs competitively on Saturdays later in the season.
2. The Varsity Wildcat Guard performs in the SAPA Circuit. In 2025, the team won first place in Scholastic Regional A class at Championships in Chattanooga, TN. Starting in 2026, the team will compete in Scholastic A class.
3. New in 2026, the JV Winterguard will be performing for the first time in Novice class. We are so excited to welcome an additional team to foster more opportunity for students to perform and express through dance and equipment.
All teams are taught by our world class instructional team. Our staff has years of DCI, DCA, WGI, and SAPA experience - both performing and teaching.
